____cacheline_aligned is an insufficient guarantee for non-coherent DMA on platforms with 128 byte cachelines above L1. Switch to the updated IIO_DMA_MINALIGN definition. As the tx[] an rx[] buffers are only used in the same SPI exchanges, we should be safe with them on the same cacheline. Hence only mark the first one __aligned(IIO_DMA_MINALIGN).

iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignment
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P;
It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */'
But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty.
The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch.
However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment.

staging: iio: ad2s1210: Fix SPI reading
If the serial interface is used, the 8-bit address should be latched using the rising edge of the WR/FSYNC signal.
This basically means that a CS change is required between the first byte sent, and the second one. This change splits the single-transfer transfer of 2 bytes into 2 transfers with a single byte, and CS change in-between.
Note fixes tag is not accurate, but reflects a point beyond which there are too many refactors to make backporting straight forward.

staging:iio:ad2s1210: Remove old_data from ad2s1210_state
The variable old_data is a bool type, which only receives the value 'true' in the function ad2s1210_config_write and ad2s1210_config_read. There is no other use for this variable. This patch removes old_data from the ad2s1210_state and from all the function that use it.

staging:iio:resolver:ad2s1210 fix negative IIO_ANGL_VEL read
gcc-7 points out an older regression:
drivers/staging/iio/resolver/ad2s1210.c: In function 'ad2s1210_read_raw': drivers/staging/iio/resolver/ad2s1210.c:515:42: error: '<<' in boolean context, did you mean '<' ? [-Werror=int-in-bool-context]
The original code had 'unsigned short' here, but incorrectly got converted to 'bool'. This reverts the regression and uses a normal type instead.
