virtio/vhost-user: fix qemu abort when hotunplug vhost-user-net device

During the hot-unplugging of vhost-user-net type network cards,
the vhost_user_cleanup function may add the same rcu node to
the rcu linked list. The function call in this case is as follows:

vhost_user_cleanup
->vhost_user_host_notifier_remove
->call_rcu(n, vhost_user_host_notifier_free, rcu);
->g_free_rcu(n, rcu);

When this happens, QEMU will abort in try_dequeue:

if (head == &dummy && qatomic_mb_read(&tail) == &dummy.next) {
abort();
}

backtrace is as follows:
0 __pthread_kill_implementation () at /usr/lib64/libc.so.6
1 raise () at /usr/lib64/libc.so.6
2 abort () at /usr/lib64/libc.so.6
3 try_dequeue () at ../util/rcu.c:235
4 call_rcu_thread (0) at ../util/rcu.c:288
5 qemu_thread_start (0) at ../util/qemu-thread-posix.c:541
6 start_thread () at /usr/lib64/libc.so.6
7 clone3 () at /usr/lib64/libc.so.6

The reason for the abort is that adding two identical nodes to
the rcu linked list will cause the rcu linked list to become a ring,
but when the dummy node is added after the two identical nodes,
the ring is opened. But only one node is added to list with
rcu_call_count added twice. This will cause rcu try_dequeue abort.

This happens when n->addr != 0. In some scenarios, this does happen.
For example, this situation will occur when using a 32-queue DPU
vhost-user-net type network card for hot-unplug testing, because
VhostUserHostNotifier->addr will be cleared during the processing of
VHOST_USER_BACKEND_VRING_HOST_NOTIFIER_MSG. However,it is asynchronous,
so we cannot guarantee that VhostUserHostNotifier->addr is zero in
vhost_user_cleanup. Therefore, it is necessary to merge g_free_rcu
and vhost_user_host_notifier_free into one rcu node.

Revert "vhost-user: fix lost reconnect"

This reverts commit f02a4b8e6431598612466f76aac64ab492849abf.

Since the current patch cannot completely fix the lost reconnect
problem, there is a scenario that is not considered:
- When the virtio-blk driver is removed from the guest os,
s->connected has no chance to be set to false, resulting in
subsequent reconnection not being executed.

The next patch will completely fix this issue with a better approach.

vhost-user: Fix protocol feature bit conflict

The VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_XEN_MMAP feature bit was defined in
f21e95ee97d, which has been part of qemu's 8.1.0 release. However, it
seems it was never added to qemu's code, but it is well possible that it
is already used by different front-ends outside of qemu (i.e., Xen).

VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_SHARED_OBJECT in contrast was added to qemu's code
in 16094766627, but never defined in the vhost-user specification. As a
consequence, both bits were defined to be 17, which cannot work.

Regardless of whether actual code or the specification should take
precedence, F_XEN_MMAP is already part of a qemu release, while
F_SHARED_OBJECT is not. Therefore, bump the latter to take number 18
instead of 17, and add this to the specification.

Take the opportunity to add at least a little note on the
VhostUserShared structure to the specification. This structure is
referenced by the new commands introduced in 16094766627, but was not
defined.

vhost-user: fix lost reconnect

When the vhost-user is reconnecting to the backend, and if the vhost-user fails
at the get_features in vhost_dev_init(), then the reconnect will fail
and it will not be retriggered forever.

The reason is:
When the vhost-user fails at get_features, the vhost_dev_cleanup will be called
immediately.

vhost_dev_cleanup calls 'memset(hdev, 0, sizeof(struct vhost_dev))'.

The reconnect path is:
vhost_user_blk_event
vhost_user_async_close(.. vhost_user_blk_disconnect ..)
qemu_chr_fe_set_handlers <----- clear the notifier callback
schedule vhost_user_async_close_bh

The vhost->vdev is null, so the vhost_user_blk_disconnect will not be
called, then the event fd callback will not be reinstalled.

All vhost-user devices have this issue, including vhost-user-blk/scsi.

With this patch, if the vdev->vdev is null, the fd callback will still
be reinstalled.

vhost-user: add shared_object msg

Add three new vhost-user protocol
`VHOST_USER_BACKEND_SHARED_OBJECT_* messages`.
These new messages are sent from vhost-user
back-ends to interact with the virtio-dmabuf
table in order to add or remove themselves as
virtio exporters, or lookup for virtio dma-buf
shared objects.

The action taken in the front-end depends
on the type stored in the virtio shared
object hash table.

When the table holds a pointer to a vhost
backend for a given UUID, the front-end sends
a VHOST_USER_GET_SHARED_OBJECT to the
backend holding the shared object.

The messages can only be sent after successfully
negotiating a new VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_SHARED_OBJECT
vhost-user protocol feature bit.

Finally, refactor code to send response message so
that all common parts both for the common REPLY_ACK
case, and other data responses, can call it and
avoid code repetition.

hw/virtio: generalise CHR_EVENT_CLOSED handling

..and use for both virtio-user-blk and virtio-user-gpio. This avoids
the circular close by deferring shutdown due to disconnection until a

generalise it as a vhost-user helper function and use for both blk and

While we are at it we also fix up vhost-user-gpio to re-establish the

virtio/vhost-user: dynamically assign VhostUserHostNotifiers

At a couple of hundred bytes per notifier allocating one for every
potential queue is very wasteful as most devices only have a few
queues. Instead of having this handled statically dynamically assign
them and track in a GPtrArray.

[AJB: it's hard to trigger the vhost notifiers code, I assume as it
requires a KVM guest with appropriate backend]

hw/virtio/vhost-user: don't suppress F_CONFIG when supported

Previously we would silently suppress VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_CONFIG
during the protocol negotiation if the QEMU stub hadn't implemented
the vhost_dev_config_notifier. However this isn't the only way we can
handle config messages, the existing vdc->get/set_config can do this
as well.

Lightly re-factor the code to check for both potential methods and
instead of silently squashing the feature error out. It is unlikely
that a vhost-user backend expecting to handle CONFIG messages will
behave correctly if they never get sent.

vhost-user: fix VirtQ notifier cleanup

When vhost-user device cleanup, remove notifier MR and munmaps notifier
address in the event-handling thread, VM CPU thread writing the notifier
in concurrent fails with an error of accessing invalid address. It
happens because MR is still being referenced and accessed in another
thread while the underlying notifier mmap address is being freed and
becomes invalid.

This patch calls RCU and munmap notifiers in the callback after the
memory flatview update finish.

vhost-user: remove VirtQ notifier restore

Notifier set when vhost-user backend asks qemu to mmap an FD and
offset. When vhost-user backend restart or getting killed, VQ notifier
FD and mmap addresses become invalid. After backend restart, MR contains
the invalid address will be restored and fail on notifier access.

On the other hand, qemu should munmap the notifier, release underlying
hardware resources to enable backend restart and allocate hardware
notifier resources correctly.

Qemu shouldn't reference and use resources of disconnected backend.

This patch removes VQ notifier restore, uses the default vhost-user
notifier to avoid invalid address access.

After backend restart, the backend should ask qemu to install a hardware
notifier if needed.

Add VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_CONFIGURE_MEM_SLOTS

This change introduces a new feature to the vhost-user protocol allowing
a backend device to specify the maximum number of ram slots it supports.

At this point, the value returned by the backend will be capped at the
maximum number of ram slots which can be supported by vhost-user, which
is currently set to 8 because of underlying protocol limitations.

The returned value will be stored inside the VhostUserState struct so
that on device reconnect we can verify that the ram slot limitation
has not decreased since the last time the device connected.
