ALSA: hda: cs35l56: Fix lifecycle of codec pointer

[ Upstream commit d339131bf02d4ed918415574082caf5e8af6e664 ]

The codec should be cleared when the amp driver is unbound and when
resuming it should be tested to prevent loading firmware into the device
and ALSA in a partially configured system state.

ALSA: hda: cs35l56: Fix lifetime of cs_dsp instance

[ Upstream commit d344873c4cbde249b7152d36a273bcc45864001e ]

The cs_dsp instance is initialized in the driver probe() so it
should be freed in the driver remove(). Also fix a missing call
to cs_dsp_remove() in the error path of cs35l56_hda_common_probe().

The call to cs_dsp_remove() was being done in the component unbind
callback cs35l56_hda_unbind(). This meant that if the driver was
unbound and then re-bound it would be using an uninitialized cs_dsp
instance.

It is best to initialize the cs_dsp instance in probe() so that it
can return an error if it fails. The component binding API doesn't
have any error handling so there's no way to handle a failure if
cs_dsp was initialized in the bind.

ALSA: hda: cs35l56: Initialize all ASP1 registers

[ Upstream commit 856ce8982169acb31a25c5f2ecd2570ab8a6af46 ]

Add ASP1_FRAME_CONTROL1, ASP1_FRAME_CONTROL5 and the ASP1_TX?_INPUT
registers to the sequence used to initialize the ASP configuration.
Write this sequence to the cache and directly to the registers to
ensure that they match.

A system-specific firmware can patch these registers to values that are
not the silicon default, so that the CS35L56 boots already in the
configuration used by Windows or by "driverless" Windows setups such
as factory tuning.

These may not match how Linux is configuring the HDA codec. And anyway
on Linux the ALSA controls are used to configure routing options.

ALSA: hda: cs35l56: Exit cache-only after cs35l56_wait_for_firmware_boot()

[ Upstream commit 73580ec607dfe125b140ed30c7c0a074db78c558 ]

Adds calls to disable regmap cache-only after a successful return from
cs35l56_wait_for_firmware_boot().

This is to prepare for a change in the shared ASoC module that will
leave regmap in cache-only mode after cs35l56_system_reset(). This is
to prevent register accesses going to the hardware while it is
rebooting.

ALSA: hda: cs35l56: Fix missing RESET GPIO if _SUB is missing

In cs35l56_hda_read_acpi() do not return if ACPI _SUB is missing.

A missing _SUB means that the driver cannot load a system-specific
firmware, because the firmware is identified by the _SUB. But it can
fallback to a generic firmware. Unfortunately this was being handled
by immediately returning 0, which would skip the remaining ACPI
configuration in cs35l56_hda_read_acpi() and so it would not get the
RESET GPIO.

Merge tag 'sound-6.6-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound

Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai:
"We've received a fairly wide range of changes at this time, including
for ALSA and ASoC core, but all of them are rather small changes.

Here are some highlights:

ALSA / ASoC Core:
- Fixes of inconsistent locking around control API helpers
- A few new control API functions and cleanups
- Workarounds for potential UAFs by delayed kobj releases
- Unified PCM copy ops with iov_iter
- Continued efforts for ASoC API cleanups

ASoC:
- An adaptor to allow use of IIO DACs and ADCs in ASoC which pulls in
some IIO changes
- Create a library function for intlog10() and use it in the NAU8825
driver
- Convert drivers to use the more modern maple tree register cache
- Lots of work on the SOF framework, AMD and Intel drivers, including
a lot of cleanup and new device support
- Standardization of the presentation of jacks from drivers
- Provision of some generic sound card DT properties
- Support for AMD Van Gogh, AMD machines with MAX98388 and NAU8821,
AWInic AW88261, Cirrus Logic CS35L36 and CS42L43, various Intel
platforms including AVS machines with ES8336 and RT5663, Mediatek
MT7986, NXP i.MX93, RealTek RT1017 and StarFive JH7110

Others:
- New test coverage including ASoC and topology tests in KUnit; this
also involves enabling UML builds of ALSA since that's the default
KUnit test environment which pulls in the addition of some stubs to
the driver
- More enhancement of pcmtest driver
- A few fixes / enhancements of MIDI 2.0 UMP core
- Using PCI definitions in allover HD-audio code
- Support for Cirrus CS35L56 and TI TAS2781 HD-audio sub-codecs
- CS35L41 HD-audio sub-codec improvements
- Continued emu10k1 improvements"

ALSA: hda/cs35l56: Do not download firmware over existing RAM firmware

A RAM firmware can only be downloaded if the CS35L56 is currently
running from ROM firmware. The driver must not try to overwrite
the RAM if the CS35L56 is already running from that RAM.

Firmware can be downloaded in these two cases:

- The BIOS has already patched the firmware (secured mode).
In this case the firmware files will only contain tunings that
are safe to overwrite.

- The CS35L56 is running the built-in ROM firmware.

After a RAM firmware has been downloaded it can only be cleared by
hard resetting CS35L56. Some systems only hard-reset during
power-on and do not give the driver control of hard reset.

ALSA: hda/cs35l56: Always power-up and start cs_dsp

Always call cs_dsp_power_up() and cs_dsp_run() in
cs35l56_hda_fw_load() even if there aren't any firmware files
to download. Also, if there aren't any firmware files to
download there is no need to do cs35l56_firmware_shutdown() and
cs35l56_system_reset().

If there aren't any firmware files there's no need to write
anything to the CS35L56 registers to make it work - it will
already be running the ROM firmware. So it's not strictly
necessary to start cs_dsp.

But it's perfectly ok to call cs_dsp_power_up() and
cs_dsp_run() without downloading any firmware. This avoids
having to support a state where audio is playing but cs_dsp
is not running.
