wifi: brcmfmac: introducing fwil query functions
[ Upstream commit c6002b6c05f3edfa12fd25990cc637281f200442 ]
When the firmware interface layer was refactored it provided various "get" and "set" functions. For the "get" in some cases a parameter needed to be passed down to firmware as a key indicating what to "get" turning the output parameter of the "get" function into an input parameter as well. To accommodate this the "get" function blindly copies the parameter which in some places resulted in an uninitialized warnings from the compiler. These have been fixed by initializing the input parameter in the past. Recently another batch of similar fixes were submitted to address clang static checker warnings [1].
Proposing another solution by introducing a "query" variant which is used when the (input) parameter is needed by firmware. The "get" variant will only fill the (output) parameter with the result received from firmware taking care of proper endianess conversion.

[ Upstream commit 9f7861c56b51b84d30114e7fea9d744a9d5ba9b7 ]
Using the WSEC command instead of sae_password seems to be the supported mechanism on newer firmware, and also how the brcmdhd driver does it.
The existing firmware mechanism intended for (some) Cypress chips has been separated from the new firmware mechanism using the multi-vendor framework. Depending on the device it will select the appropriate firmware mechanism.
This makes WPA3 work with iwd, or with wpa_supplicant pending a support patchset [2].

[ Upstream commit 0f7352557a35ab7888bc7831411ec8a3cbe20d78 ]
This is the candidate patch of CVE-2023-47233 : https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-47233
In brcm80211 driver,it starts with the following invoking chain to start init a timeout worker:
->brcmf_usb_probe ->brcmf_usb_probe_cb ->brcmf_attach ->brcmf_bus_started ->brcmf_cfg80211_attach ->wl_init_priv ->brcmf_init_escan ->INIT_WORK(&cfg->escan_timeout_work, brcmf_cfg80211_escan_timeout_worker);
If we disconnect the USB by hotplug, it will call brcmf_usb_disconnect to make cleanup. The invoking chain is :
brcmf_usb_disconnect ->brcmf_usb_disconnect_cb ->brcmf_detach ->brcmf_cfg80211_detach ->kfree(cfg);
While the timeout woker may still be running. This will cause a use-after-free bug on cfg in brcmf_cfg80211_escan_timeout_worker.
Fix it by deleting the timer and canceling the worker in brcmf_cfg80211_detach.

After commit e3eac9f32ec0 ("wifi: cfg80211: Annotate struct cfg80211_scan_request with __counted_by"), the compiler may enforce dynamic array indexing of req->channels to stay below n_channels. As a result, n_channels needs to be increased _before_ accessing the newly added array index. Increment it first, then use "i" for the prior index. Solves this warning in the coming GCC that has __counted_by support:
