Current implementation of stmmac_probe_config_dt() does not release the
OF node reference obtained by of_parse_phandle() in some error paths.
The problem is that some error paths call stmmac_remove_config_dt() to
clean up but others use and unwind ladder. These two types of error
handling have not kept in sync and have been a recurring source of bugs.
Re-write the error handling in stmmac_probe_config_dt() to use an unwind
ladder. Consequently, stmmac_remove_config_dt() is not needed anymore,
thus remove it.

This bug was found by an experimental verification tool that I am
developing.

Currently a MDIO bus is created if the devicetree description is either:

1. Not fixed-link
2. fixed-link but contains a MDIO bus as well

The "1" case above isn't always accurate. If there's a phy-handle,
it could be referencing a phy on another MDIO controller's bus[1]. In
this case, where the MDIO bus is not described at all, currently
stmmac will make a MDIO bus and scan its address space to discover
phys (of which there are none). This process takes time scanning a bus
that is known to be empty, delaying time to complete probe.

There are also a lot of upstream devicetrees[2] that expect a MDIO bus
to be created, scanned for phys, and the first one found connected
to the MAC. This case can be inferred from the platform description by
not having a phy-handle && not being fixed-link. This hits case "1" in
the current driver's logic, and must be handled in any logic change here
since it is a valid legacy dt-binding.

Let's improve the logic to create a MDIO bus if either:

- Devicetree contains a MDIO bus
- !fixed-link && !phy-handle (legacy handling)

This way the case where no MDIO bus should be made is handled, as well
as retaining backwards compatibility with the valid cases.

Below devicetree snippets can be found that explain some of
the cases above more concretely.

Here's[0] a devicetree example where the MAC is both fixed-link and
driving a switch on MDIO (case "2" above). This needs a MDIO bus to
be created:

Here's[1] an example where there is no MDIO bus or fixed-link for
the ethernet1 MAC, so no MDIO bus should be created since ethernet0
is the MDIO master for ethernet1's phy:

Add sw fallback of tx checksum calculation for those tx queues that
don't support tx checksum offloading. DW xGMAC IP can be synthesized
such that it can support tx checksum offloading only for a few
initial tx queues. Also as Serge pointed out, for the DW QoS IP, tx
coe can be individually configured for each tx queue.

So when tx coe is enabled, for any tx queue that doesn't support
tx coe with 'coe-unsupported' flag set will have a sw fallback
happen in the driver for tx checksum calculation when any packets to
be transmitted on these tx queues.

it, cleaning it up a bit.

This series:

1) adds a new phylink function to limit the MAC capabilities according
to a maximum speed. This allows us to greatly simplify stmmac's
initialisation of phylink's mac capabilities.

2) everywhere that uses priv->plat->phylink_node first converts this
to a fwnode before doing anything with it. This is silly. Let's
instead store it as a fwnode to eliminate these conversions in
multiple places.

3) clean up passing the fwnode to phylink - it might as well happen
at the phylink_create() callsite, rather than being scattered
throughout the entire function.

4) same for mdio_bus_data

5) use phylink_limit_mac_speed() to handle the priv->plat->max_speed
restriction.

6) add a method to get the MAC-specific capabilities from the code
dealing with the MACs, and arrange to call it at an appropriate
time.

7) convert the gmac4 users to use the MAC specific method.

8) same for xgmac.

9) group all the simple phylink_config initialisations together.

10) convert half-duplex logic to being positive logic.

While looking into all of this, this raised eyebrows:

priv->plat->tx_queues_to_use is initialised by platforms to either 1,
4 or 8, and can be controlled from userspace via the --set-channels
ethtool op. The implementation of this op in this driver limits the
number of channels to priv->dma_cap.number_tx_queues, which is derived
from the DMA hwcap.

So, the obvious questions are:

1) what guarantees that the static initialisation of tx_queues_to_use
will always be less than or equal to number_tx_queues from the DMA hw
cap?

2) tx_queues_to_use starts off as 1, but number_tx_queues is larger,
we will leave the half-duplex capabilities in place, but userspace can
increase tx_queues_to_use above 1. Does that mean half-duplex is then
not supported?

3) Should we be basing the decision whether half-duplex is supported
off the DMA capabilities?

4) What about priv->dma_cap.half_duplex? Doesn't that get a say in
whether half-duplex is supported or not? Why isn't this used? Why is
it only reported via debugfs? If it's not being used by the driver,
what's the point of reporting it via debugfs?

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.
