net: phy: national: remove the use of the .ack_interrupt()
In preparation of removing the .ack_interrupt() callback, we must replace its occurrences (aka phy_clear_interrupt), from the 2 places where it is called from (phy_enable_interrupts and phy_disable_interrupts), with equivalent functionality.
This means that clearing interrupts now becomes something that the PHY driver is responsible of doing, before enabling interrupts and after clearing them. Make this driver follow the new contract.

net: phy: national: implement generic .handle_interrupt() callback
In an attempt to actually support shared IRQs in phylib, we now move the responsibility of triggering the phylib state machine or just returning IRQ_NONE, based on the IRQ status register, to the PHY driver. Having 3 different IRQ handling callbacks (.handle_interrupt(), .did_interrupt() and .ack_interrupt() ) is confusing so let the PHY driver implement directly an IRQ handler like any other device driver. Make this driver follow the new convention.

net: phy: switch drivers to use dynamic feature detection
Recently genphy_read_abilities() has been added that dynamically detects clause 22 PHY abilities. I *think* this detection should work with all supported PHY's, at least for the ones with basic features sets, i.e. PHY_BASIC_FEATURES and PHY_GBIT_FEATURES. So let's remove setting these features explicitly and rely on phylib feature detection.
I don't have access to most of these PHY's, therefore I'd appreciate regression testing.

net: phy: phy drivers should not set SUPPORTED_[Asym_]Pause
Instead of having individual PHY drivers set the SUPPORTED_Pause and SUPPORTED_Asym_Pause flags, phylib itself should set those flags, unless there is a hardware erratum or other special case. During autonegotiation, the PHYs will determine whether to enable pause frame support.
Pause frames are a feature that is supported by the MAC. It is the MAC that generates the frames and that processes them. The PHY can only be configured to allow them to pass through.
This commit also effectively reverts the recently applied c7a61319 ("net: phy: dp83848: Support ethernet pause frames").
So the new process is:
1) Unless the PHY driver overrides it, phylib sets the SUPPORTED_Pause and SUPPORTED_AsymPause bits in phydev->supported. This indicates that the PHY supports pause frames.
2) The MAC driver checks phydev->supported before it calls phy_start(). If (SUPPORTED_Pause | SUPPORTED_AsymPause) is set, then the MAC driver sets those bits in phydev->advertising, if it wants to enable pause frame support.
3) When the link state changes, the MAC driver checks phydev->pause and phydev->asym_pause, If the bits are set, then it enables the corresponding features in the MAC. The algorithm is:
if (phydev->pause) The MAC should be programmed to receive and honor pause frames it receives, i.e. enable receive flow control.
if (phydev->pause != phydev->asym_pause) The MAC should be programmed to transmit pause frames when needed, i.e. enable transmit flow control.

MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE only expands to something if it's compiled for a module. So when building-in support for the phys, the mdio_device_id tables are unused. Marking them with __maybe_unused fixes the following warnings:

drivers/net: Remove unnecessary returns from void function()s
This patch removes from drivers/net/ all the unnecessary return; statements that precede the last closing brace of void functions.
It does not remove the returns that are immediately preceded by a label as gcc doesn't like that.
It also does not remove null void functions with return.
Done via: $ grep -rP --include=*.[ch] -l "return;\n}" net/ | \ xargs perl -i -e 'local $/ ; while (<>) { s/\n[ \t\n]+return;\n}/\n}/g; print; }'
with some cleanups by hand.
Compile tested x86 allmodconfig only.

net: phy: switch drivers to use dynamic feature detection Recently genphy_read_abilities() has been added that dynamically detects clause 22 PHY abilities. I *think* this detection should work with all supported PHY's, at least for the ones with basic features sets, i.e. PHY_BASIC_FEATURES and PHY_GBIT_FEATURES. So let's remove setting these features explicitly and rely on phylib feature detection. I don't have access to most of these PHY's, therefore I'd appreciate regression testing. v2: - make the feature constant a comment so that readers know which features are supported by the respective PHY Signed-off-by: Heiner Kallweit <hkallweit1@gmail.com> Tested-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. net: phy: phy drivers should not set SUPPORTED_[Asym_]Pause Instead of having individual PHY drivers set the SUPPORTED_Pause and SUPPORTED_Asym_Pause flags, phylib itself should set those flags, unless there is a hardware erratum or other special case. So the new process is: 1) Unless the PHY driver overrides it, phylib sets the SUPPORTED_Pause and SUPPORTED_AsymPause bits in phydev->supported. The algorithm is: if (phydev->pause) The MAC should be programmed to receive and honor pause frames it receives, i.e. enable receive flow control. if (phydev->pause != phydev->asym_pause) The MAC should be programmed to transmit pause frames when needed, i.e. enable transmit flow control.
