igb: Add lock to avoid data race
The commit c23d92b80e0b ("igb: Teardown SR-IOV before unregister_netdev()") places the unregister_netdev() call after the igb_disable_sriov() call to avoid functionality issue.
However, it introduces several race conditions when detaching a device. For example, when .remove() is called, the below interleaving leads to use-after-free.
(FREE from device detaching) | (USE from netdev core) igb_remove | igb_ndo_get_vf_config igb_disable_sriov | vf >= adapter->vfs_allocated_count? kfree(adapter->vf_data) | adapter->vfs_allocated_count = 0 | | memcpy(... adapter->vf_data[vf]
Moreover, the igb_disable_sriov() also suffers from data race with the requests from VF driver.
(FREE from device detaching) | (USE from requests) igb_remove | igb_msix_other igb_disable_sriov | igb_msg_task kfree(adapter->vf_data) | vf < adapter->vfs_allocated_count adapter->vfs_allocated_count = 0 |
To this end, this commit first eliminates the data races from netdev core by using rtnl_lock (similar to commit 719479230893 ("dpaa2-eth: add MAC/PHY support through phylink")). And then adds a spinlock to eliminate races from driver requests. (similar to commit 1e53834ce541 ("ixgbe: Add locking to prevent panic when setting sriov_numvfs to zero")

(FREE from device detaching) | (USE from netdev core) igb_remove | igb_ndo_get_vf_config igb_disable_sriov | vf >= adapter->vfs_allocated_count? kfree(adapter->vf_data) | adapter->vfs_allocated_count = 0 | | memcpy(... adapter->vf_data[vf]
Moreover, the igb_disable_sriov() also suffers from data race with the requests from VF driver.
(FREE from device detaching) | (USE from requests) igb_remove | igb_msix_other igb_disable_sriov | igb_msg_task kfree(adapter->vf_data) | vf < adapter->vfs_allocated_count adapter->vfs_allocated_count = 0 |
To this end, this commit first eliminates the data races from netdev core by using rtnl_lock (similar to commit 719479230893 ("dpaa2-eth: add MAC/PHY support through phylink")). And then adds a spinlock to eliminate races from driver requests. (similar to commit 1e53834ce541 ("ixgbe: Add locking to prevent panic when setting sriov_numvfs to zero")

igb: Fix XDP with PTP enabled
When using native XDP with the igb driver, the XDP frame data doesn't point to the beginning of the packet. It's off by 16 bytes. Everything works as expected with XDP skb mode.
Actually these 16 bytes are used to store the packet timestamps. Therefore, pull the timestamp before executing any XDP operations and adjust all other code accordingly. The igc driver does it like that as well.
Tested with Intel i210 card and AF_XDP sockets.

Add XDP support to the IGB driver. The implementation follows the IXGBE XDP implementation closely and I used the following patches as basis:
1. commit 924708081629 ("ixgbe: add XDP support for pass and drop actions") 2. commit 33fdc82f0883 ("ixgbe: add support for XDP_TX action") 3. commit ed93a3987128 ("ixgbe: tweak page counting for XDP_REDIRECT")
Due to the hardware constraints of the devices using the IGB driver we must share the TX queues with XDP which means locking the TX queue for XDP.
I ran tests on an older device to get better numbers. Test machine:
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C2338 @ 1.74GHz (2 Cores) 2x Intel I211
Routing Original Driver Network Stack: 382 Kpps
Routing XDP Redirect (xdp_fwd_kern): 1.48 Mpps XDP Drop: 1.48 Mpps
Using XDP we can achieve line rate forwarding even on an older Intel Atom CPU.

net/intel: remove driver versions from Intel drivers
As with other networking drivers, remove the unnecessary driver version from the Intel drivers. The ethtool driver information and module version will then report the kernel version instead.
For ixgbe, i40e and ice drivers, the driver passes the driver version to the firmware to confirm that we are up and running. So we now pass the value of UTS_RELEASE to the firmware. This adminq call is required per the HAS document. The Device then sends an indication to the BMC that the PF driver is present. This is done using Host NC Driver Status Indication in NC-SI Get Link command or via the Host Network Controller Driver Status Change AEN.
What the BMC may do with this information is implementation-dependent, but this is a standard NC-SI 1.1 command we honor per the HAS.

intel: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array member
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99:
struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; };
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

igb: dont drop packets if rx flow control is enabled
If Rx flow control has been enabled (via autoneg or forced), packets should not be dropped due to Rx descriptor ring exhaustion. Instead pause frames should be used to apply back pressure. This only applies if VFs are not in use.
Move SRRCTL setup to its own function for easy reuse and only set drop enable bit if Rx flow control is not enabled.

igb: reduce CPU0 latency when updating statistics
This change is based off of the work and suggestion of Jan Jablonsky <jan.jablonsky@thalesgroup.com>.
The Watchdog workqueue in igb driver is scheduled every 2s for each network interface. That includes updating a statistics protected by spinlock. Function igb_update_stats in this case will be protected against preemption. According to number of a statistics registers (cca 60), processing this function might cause additional cpu load on CPU0.
In case of statistics spinlock may be replaced with mutex, which reduce latency on CPU0.

igb: Add support for ETF offload
Implement HW offload support for SO_TXTIME through igb's Launchtime feature. This is done by extending igb_setup_tc() so it supports TC_SETUP_QDISC_ETF and configuring i210 so time based transmit arbitration is enabled.
The FQTSS transmission mode added before is extended so strict priority (SP) queues wait for stream reservation (SR) ones. igb_config_tx_modes() is extended so it can support enabling/disabling Launchtime following the previous approach used for the credit-based shaper (CBS).
As the previous flow, FQTSS transmission mode is enabled automatically by the driver once Launchtime (or CBS, as before) is enabled. Similarly, it's automatically disabled when the feature is disabled for the last queue that had it setup on.
The driver just consumes the transmit times from the skbuffs directly, so no special handling is done in case an 'invalid' time is provided. We assume this has been handled by the ETF qdisc already.

igb: Add support for adding offloaded clsflower filters
This allows filters added by tc-flower and specifying MAC addresses, Ethernet types, and the VLAN priority field, to be offloaded to the controller.
This reuses most of the infrastructure used by ethtool, but clsflower filters are kept in a separated list, so they are invisible to ethtool.
To setup clsflower offloading:
$ tc qdisc replace dev eth0 handle 100: parent root mqprio \ num_tc 3 map 2 2 1 0 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 \ queues 1@0 1@1 2@2 hw 0 (clsflower offloading depends on the netword driver to be configured with multiple traffic classes, we use mqprio's 'num_tc' parameter to set it to 3)
$ tc qdisc add dev eth0 ingress
Examples of filters:
$ tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: flower \ dst_mac aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:aa \ hw_tc 2 skip_sw (just a simple filter filtering for the destination MAC address and steering that traffic to queue 2)
$ tc filter add dev enp2s0 parent ffff: proto 0x22f0 flower \ src_mac cc:cc:cc:cc:cc:cc \ hw_tc 1 skip_sw (as the i210 doesn't support steering traffic based on the source address alone, we need to use another steering traffic, in this case we are using the ethernet type (0x22f0) to steer traffic to queue 1)

igb: Enable nfc filters to specify MAC addresses
This allows igb_add_filter()/igb_erase_filter() to work on filters that include MAC addresses (both source and destination).
For now, this only exposes the functionality, the next commit glues ethtool into this. Later in this series, these APIs are used to allow offloading of cls_flower filters.
