iio:common:ssp: Switch from CONFIG_PM_SLEEP guards to pm_sleep_ptr() etc
Letting the compiler remove these functions when the kernel is built without CONFIG_PM_SLEEP support is simpler and less error prone than the use of ifdef based config guards. Also switch to SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS rather than open coding the structure.
Removing instances of this approach from IIO also stops them being copied into new drivers.

iio:common:ssp_sensors: Move exports into IIO_SSP_SENSORS namespace
In order to avoid unnecessary pollution of the global symbol namespace move the common/library functions into a specific namespace and import that into the various specific device drivers that use them.
For more information see https://lwn.net/Articles/760045/
Both the exports used between the two common modules and the individual drivers are moved to a single namespace as greater granularity does not feel useful.

spi: make remove callback a void function
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before.

iio: ssp_sensors: don't manually free devm managed resources
The charme of devm_* functions is that you don't need to care about them in the error path. In this case it is valid to just return NULL which makes the device fail to probe and then the two gpios and the allocated memory are freed automatically by the driver core.

iio: common: ssp_sensors: account for const type of of_device_id.data
This driver creates a number of const structures that it stores in the data field of an of_device_id array.
Add const to the declaration of the location that receives a value from the data field to ensure that the compiler will continue to check that the value is not modified and remove the const-dropping cast on the access to the data field.
Done using Coccinelle.

treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup()
This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes, since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following examples, in addition to some other variations.
Casting from unsigned long:
void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr);
and forced object casts:
void my_callback(struct something *ptr) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr);
become:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
Direct function assignments:
void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback;
have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback;
And finally, callbacks without a data assignment:
void my_callback(unsigned long data) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused) { ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script:
spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \ -I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \ -I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \ -I ./arch/x86/include/generated/uapi -I ./include/uapi \ -I ./include/generated/uapi --include ./include/linux/kconfig.h \ --dir . \ --cocci-file ~/src/data/timer_setup.cocci

Sensorhub is MCU dedicated to collect data and manage several sensors. Sensorhub is a spi device which provides a layer for IIO devices. It provides some data parsing and common mechanism for sensorhub sensors.
Adds common sensorhub library for sensorhub driver and iio drivers which uses sensorhub MCU to communicate with sensors.

iio: ssp_sensors: don't manually free devm managed resources The charme of devm_* functions is that you don't need to care about them in the error path. In this case it is valid to just return NULL which makes the device fail to probe and then the two gpios and the allocated memory are freed automatically by the driver core. iio: common: ssp_sensors: account for const type of of_device_id.data This driver creates a number of const structures that it stores in the data field of an of_device_id array. Add const to the declaration of the location that receives a value from the data field to ensure that the compiler will continue to check that the value is not modified and remove the const-dropping cast on the access to the data field. Done using Coccinelle. Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup() This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes, since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following examples, in addition to some other variations. Casting from unsigned long: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr); and forced object casts: void my_callback(struct something *ptr) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr); become: void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); Direct function assignments: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data; ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback; have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args: void my_callback(struct timer_list *t) { struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer); ... } ... ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback; And finally, callbacks without a data assignment: void my_callback(unsigned long data) { ... } ... setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion: void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused) { ... } ... timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0); The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script: spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \ -I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \ -I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \ -I ./arch/x86/include/generated/uapi -I ./include/uapi \ -I ./include/generated/uapi --include ./include/linux/kconfig.h \ --dir . \ --cocci-file ~/src/data/timer_setup.cocci @fix_address_of@ expression e;
