hwmon: (emc2103) fix unable to change fan pwm1_enable attribute
This patch fixes a bug which does not let FAN mode to be changed from sysfs(pwm1_enable). i.e pwm1_enable can not be set to 3, it will always remain at 0.
This is caused because the device driver handles the result of "read_u8_from_i2c(client, REG_FAN_CONF1, &conf_reg)" incorrectly. The driver thinks an error has occurred if the (result != 0). This has been fixed by changing the condition to (result < 0).

Also replace any remaining S_<PERMS> in the driver with octal values.
The conversion was done automatically with coccinelle. The semantic patches and the scripts used to generate this commit log are available at https://github.com/groeck/coccinelle-patches/hwmon/.
This patch does not introduce functional changes. It was verified by compiling the old and new files and comparing text and data sizes.

hwmon: (emc2103) Clamp limits instead of bailing out
It is customary to clamp limits instead of bailing out with an error if a configured limit is out of the range supported by the driver. This simplifies limit configuration, since the user will not typically know chip and/or driver specific limits.

I no longer have a mailbox at smsc.com, and I've had two reports that that email address now bounces from people trying to contact me. This patch updates all references to that invalid address to one that I can be contacted on more permanently.

Fix:
emc2103.c: In function set_pwm_enable: emc2103.c:463:12: warning: conf_reg may be used uninitialized in this function
by checking the return value from read_u8_from_i2c(). This fixes a real problem, as conf_reg is really uninitialized if read_u8_from_i2c returns an error.

module_param: avoid bool abuse, add bint for special cases.
For historical reasons, we allow module_param(bool) to take an int (or an unsigned int). That's going away.
A few drivers really want an int: they set it to -1 and a parameter will set it to 0 or 1. This sucks: reading them from sysfs will give 'Y' for both -1 and 1, but if we change it to an int, then the users might be broken (if they did "param" instead of "param=1").
Use a new 'bint' parser for them.
(ntfs has a different problem: it needs an int for debug_msgs because it's also exposed via sysctl.)

hwmon: (emc2103) fix unable to change fan pwm1_enable attribute This patch fixes a bug which does not let FAN mode to be changed from sysfs(pwm1_enable). i.e pwm1_enable can not be set to 3, it will always remain at 0. This is caused because the device driver handles the result of "read_u8_from_i2c(client, REG_FAN_CONF1, &conf_reg)" incorrectly. The driver thinks an error has occurred if the (result != 0). This has been fixed by changing the condition to (result < 0).
