1========================== 2Samsung ARM Linux Overview 3========================== 4 5Introduction 6------------ 7 8 The Samsung range of ARM SoCs spans many similar devices, from the initial 9 ARM9 through to the newest ARM cores. This document shows an overview of 10 the current kernel support, how to use it and where to find the code 11 that supports this. 12 13 The currently supported SoCs are: 14 15 - S3C64XX: S3C6400 and S3C6410 16 - S5PC110 / S5PV210 17 18 19Configuration 20------------- 21 22 A number of configurations are supplied, as there is no current way of 23 unifying all the SoCs into one kernel. 24 25 s5pc110_defconfig 26 - S5PC110 specific default configuration 27 s5pv210_defconfig 28 - S5PV210 specific default configuration 29 30 31Layout 32------ 33 34 The directory layout is currently being restructured, and consists of 35 several platform directories and then the machine specific directories 36 of the CPUs being built for. 37 38 plat-samsung provides the base for all the implementations, and is the 39 last in the line of include directories that are processed for the build 40 specific information. It contains the base clock, GPIO and device definitions 41 to get the system running. 42 43 plat-s5p is for s5p specific builds, and contains common support for the 44 S5P specific systems. Not all S5Ps use all the features in this directory 45 due to differences in the hardware. 46 47 48Layout changes 49-------------- 50 51 The old plat-s3c and plat-s5pc1xx directories have been removed, with 52 support moved to either plat-samsung or plat-s5p as necessary. These moves 53 where to simplify the include and dependency issues involved with having 54 so many different platform directories. 55 56 57Port Contributors 58----------------- 59 60 Ben Dooks (BJD) 61 Vincent Sanders 62 Herbert Potzl 63 Arnaud Patard (RTP) 64 Roc Wu 65 Klaus Fetscher 66 Dimitry Andric 67 Shannon Holland 68 Guillaume Gourat (NexVision) 69 Christer Weinigel (wingel) (Acer N30) 70 Lucas Correia Villa Real (S3C2400 port) 71 72 73Document Author 74--------------- 75 76Copyright 2009-2010 Ben Dooks <ben-linux@fluff.org> 77
