- Cursor handling cleanup for -next which depends upon the cursor

Merge tag 'pinctrl-v3.12-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-pinctrl

Pull pin control changes from Linus Walleij:
"Here is the bulk of pin control changes for the v3.12 series. Most of
the relevant information is in the tag.

I merged in v3.11-rc7 last week to get rid of a largeish conflict
within the sunxi (AllWinner) driver in linux-next and fix up the
non-trivial merge the right way. That driver had a rather large fix
adding locking late in the release cycle.

Overall the bulk changes this time is cleanups and refactorings and
not much new features, which is nice.

- Refactorings for generic pin config handling in the core.

- Factor out a set of device tree utilities for use in all drivers,
to parse and allocate maps from the device tree.

- Some fixes to the core such as more nitpicky locking.

- Pushed down config array iteration into the drivers.

This patch is necessary for drivers that want to iterate over
configs and pile up a stack of alterations to the same register(s),
or if the driver wants to take a local spinlock when committing the
configuration.

- A new driver for the Texas Instruments Palmas PMIC by Laxman
Dewangan. This is used on the Tegra systems.

- A major cleanup and modernization of the PFC (Super Hitachi and ARM
SHmobile) pin controller and subdrivers.

- Support for the A20 and A31 sunxi (AllWinner) SoCs.

- A huge pile of fixes and cleanups: Axel Lin, Jingoo Han Dan
Carpenter, Julia Lawall and Sachin Kamat did an excellent job here"

gpio: clean up gpio-ranges documentation

This change makes documentation of the the gpio-ranges property shorter
and more succinct, more consistent with the style of the rest of the
document, and not mention Linux-specifics such as the API
pinctrl_request_gpio(); DT binding documents should be OS independant
where at all possible. As part of this, the gpio-ranges property's format
is described in BNF form, in order to match the rest of the document.

This change also deprecates the #gpio-range-cells property. Such
properties are useful when one node references a second node, and that
second node dictates the format of the reference. However, that is not
the case here; the definition of gpio-ranges itself always dictates its
format entirely, and hence the value #gpio-range-cells must always be 3,
and hence there is no point requiring any referenced node to include
this property. The only remaining need for this property is to ensure
compatibility of DTs with older SW that was written to support the
previous version of the binding.

v4:
* Mention #gpio-range-cells as being deprecated, rather than removing all
documentation of that property. This allows DTs to be written in a
backwards-compatible way if desired, and also allows older DTs to be
interpreted fully using the latest documentation.
v3:
* Mention BNF in commit description.
* Fixed typo.
* Dropped patch that removed the deprecated property from *.dts, since
it's required to boot older kernels.

Pull pinctrl update from Linus Walleij:
"These are the pinctrl changes for v3.10:

- Patrice Chotard contributed a new configuration debugfs interface
and reintroduced fine-grained locking into the core: instead of
having a "big pinctrl lock" we have a per-controller lock and
specialized locks for the global controller and pinctrl handle
lists.

- Haoijan Zhuang deleted all the PXA and MMP2 pinctrl drivers and
replaced them with pinctrl-single (which is also used by other
SoCs) so we are gaining consolidation. The platform particulars
now come in through the device tree.

- Haoijan also added support for generic pin config into the
pinctrl-single driver which is another big consolidation win.

- Finally also GPIO ranges are now supported by the pinctrl-single
driver.

- Tomasz Figa contributed a new Samsung S3C pinctrl driver, bringing
more of the older Samsung platforms under the pinctrl umbrella and
out of arch/arm.

- Maxime Ripard contributed new Allwinner A10/A13 drivers.

- Sachin Kamat, Wei Yongjun and Axel Lin did a lot of cleanups."

Merge tag 'renesas-pinmux-for-v3.10' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/horms/renesas into next/renesas-pinctrl

From Simon Horman <horms+renesas@verge.net.au>:

Renesas ARM and SH based SoC pinmux update for v3.10

As with changes to the Renesas ARM and SH based SoC pinmux code for v3.9
it has been agreed by the relevant parties, Linus Walleij, Laurent Pinchart,
Paul Mundt and myself, that it would be best to take these changes through
the renesas tree and in turn the arm-soc tree.

This pull is based on a merge of the following in order to provide
the required dependencies. This base has been discussed and agreed upon by
Linus Walleij, Laurent Pinchart and myself.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-pinctrl fixes
