The previous patches had some unwanted side effects, I've fixed the lack of 32bpp working, and fixed up 16bpp so it should also work.
this also adds the interface to allow the driver to set a preferred console depth so for example low memory rn50 can set it to 8bpp. It also catches 24bpp on cards that can't do it and forces 32bpp.
Tested on r100/r600/i945.

drm/kms: move driver specific fb common code to helper functions (v2)
Initially I always meant this code to be shared, but things ran away from me before I got to it.
This refactors the i915 and radeon kms fbdev interaction layers out into generic helpers + driver specific pieces.
It moves all the panic/sysrq enhancements to the core file, and stores a linked list of kernel fbs. This could possibly be improved to only store the fb which has fbcon on it for panics etc.
radeon retains some specific codes used for a big endian workaround.

drm/radeon: introduce kernel modesetting for radeon hardware
Add kernel modesetting support to radeon driver, use the ttm memory manager to manage memory and DRM/GEM to provide userspace API. In order to avoid backward compatibility issue and to allow clean design and code the radeon kernel modesetting use different code path than old radeon/drm driver.
When kernel modesetting is enabled the IOCTL of radeon/drm driver are considered as invalid and an error message is printed in the log and they return failure.
KMS enabled userspace will use new API to talk with the radeon/drm driver. The new API provide functions to create/destroy/share/mmap buffer object which are then managed by the kernel memory manager (here TTM). In order to submit command to the GPU the userspace provide a buffer holding the command stream, along this buffer userspace have to provide a list of buffer object used by the command stream. The kernel radeon driver will then place buffer in GPU accessible memory and will update command stream to reflect the position of the different buffers.
The kernel will also perform security check on command stream provided by the user, we want to catch and forbid any illegal use of the GPU such as DMA into random system memory or into memory not owned by the process supplying the command stream. This part of the code is still incomplete and this why we propose that patch as a staging driver addition, future security might forbid current experimental userspace to run.
This code support the following hardware : R1XX,R2XX,R3XX,R4XX,R5XX (radeon up to X1950). Works is underway to provide support for R6XX, R7XX and newer hardware (radeon from HD2XXX to HD4XXX).

drm/vblank: drop the mode argument from drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos If we restrict this helper to only kms drivers (which is the case) we can look up the correct mode easily ourselves. But it's a bit tricky: - All legacy drivers look at crtc->hwmode. But that is updated already at the beginning of the modeset helper, which means when we disable a pipe. Hence the final timestamps might be a bit off. But since this is an existing bug I'm not going to change it, but just try to be bug-for-bug compatible with the current code. This only applies to radeon&amdgpu. - i915 tries to get it perfect by updating crtc->hwmode when the pipe is off (i.e. vblank->enabled = false). - All other atomic drivers look at crtc->state->adjusted_mode. Those that look at state->requested_mode simply don't adjust their mode, so it's the same. That has two problems: Accessing crtc->state from interrupt handling code is unsafe, and it's updated before we shut down the pipe. For nonblocking modesets it's even worse. For atomic drivers try to implement what i915 does. To do that we add a new hwmode field to the vblank structure, and update it from drm_calc_timestamping_constants(). For atomic drivers that's called from the right spot by the helper library already, so all fine. But for safety let's enforce that. For legacy driver this function is only called at the end (oh the fun), which is broken, so again let's not bother and just stay bug-for-bug compatible. The benefit is that we can use drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos directly to implement ->get_vblank_timestamp in every driver, deleting a lot of code. v2: Completely new approach, trying to mimick the i915 solution. v3: Fixup kerneldoc. v4: Drop the WARN_ON to check that the vblank is off, atomic helpers currently unconditionally call this. Recomputing the same stuff should be harmless. v5: Fix typos and move misplaced hunks to the right patches (Neil). v6: Undo hunk movement (kbuild). drm: Don't include <drm/drm_encoder.h> in <drm/drm_crtc.h> <drm/drm_crtc.h> used to define most of the in-kernel KMS API. It has now been split into separate files for each object type, but still includes most other KMS headers to avoid breaking driver compilation. As a step towards fixing that problem, remove the inclusion of <drm/drm_encoder.h> from <drm/drm_crtc.h> and include it instead where appropriate. Also remove the forward declarations of the drm_encoder and drm_encoder_helper_funcs structures from <drm/drm_crtc.h> as they're not needed in the header. <drm/drm_encoder.h> now has to include <drm/drm_mode.h> and contain a forward declaration of struct drm_encoder in order to allow including it as the first header in a compilation unit.
