ACPI, APEI, Fix APEI related table size checking
On Huang Ying's machine:
erst_tab->header_length == sizeof(struct acpi_table_einj)
but Yinghai reported that on his machine,
erst_tab->header_length == sizeof(struct acpi_table_einj) - sizeof(struct acpi_table_header)
To make erst table size checking code works on all systems, both testing are treated as PASS.
Same situation applies to einj_tab->header_length, so corresponding table size checking is changed in similar way too.

acpi: fix bogus preemption logic
The ACPI_PREEMPTION_POINT() logic was introduced in commit 8bd108d (ACPICA: add preemption point after each opcode parse). The follow up commits abe1dfab6, 138d15692, c084ca70 tried to fix the preemption logic back and forth, but nobody noticed that the usage of in_atomic_preempt_off() in that context is wrong.
The check which guards the call of cond_resched() is:
if (!in_atomic_preempt_off() && !irqs_disabled())
in_atomic_preempt_off() is not intended for general use as the comment above the macro definition clearly says:
* Check whether we were atomic before we did preempt_disable(): * (used by the scheduler, *after* releasing the kernel lock)
On a CONFIG_PREEMPT=n kernel the usage of in_atomic_preempt_off() works by accident, but with CONFIG_PREEMPT=y it's just broken.
The whole purpose of the ACPI_PREEMPTION_POINT() is to reduce the latency on a CONFIG_PREEMPT=n kernel, so make ACPI_PREEMPTION_POINT() depend on CONFIG_PREEMPT=n and remove the in_atomic_preempt_off() check.

ACPI, APEI, Error Record Serialization Table (ERST) support
ERST is a way provided by APEI to save and retrieve hardware error record to and from some simple persistent storage (such as flash).
The Linux kernel support implementation is quite simple and workable in NMI context. So it can be used to save hardware error record into flash in hardware error exception or NMI handler, where other more complex persistent storage such as disk is not usable. After saving hardware error records via ERST in hardware error exception or NMI handler, the error records can be retrieved and logged into disk or network after a clean reboot.
For more information about ERST, please refer to ACPI Specification version 4.0, section 17.4.
This patch incorporate fixes from Jin Dongming.

pstore: Map PSTORE_TYPE_* to strings In later patches we will need to map types to names, so create a constant table for that which can also be used in different parts of old and new code. This saves the type in the PRZ which will be useful in later patches. Instead of having an explicit PSTORE_TYPE_UNKNOWN, just use ..._MAX. This includes removing the now redundant filename templates which can use a single format string. Also, there's no reason to limit the "is it still compressed?" test to only PSTORE_TYPE_DMESG when building the pstorefs filename. Records are zero-initialized, so a backend would need to have explicitly set compressed=1. treewide: kvmalloc() -> kvmalloc_array() The kvmalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kvmalloc_array(). This patch replaces cases of: kvmalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kvmalloc_array(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kvmalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kvmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kvmalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kvmalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. ACPI: APEI / ERST: Fix missing error handling in erst_reader() The commit f6f828513290 ("pstore: pass allocated memory region back to caller") changed the check of the return value from erst_read() in erst_reader() in the following way: if (len == -ENOENT) goto skip; - else if (len < 0) { - rc = -1; + else if (len < sizeof(*rcd)) { + rc = -EIO; goto out; This introduced another bug: since the comparison with sizeof() is cast to unsigned, a negative len value doesn't hit any longer. As a result, when an error is returned from erst_read(), the code falls through, and it may eventually lead to some weird thing like memory corruption. This patch adds the negative error value check more explicitly for addressing the issue. APEI / ERST: use 64-bit timestamps 32-bit timestamps are deprecated in the kernel, so we should not use get_seconds(). In this case, the 'struct cper_record_header' structure already contains a 64-bit field, so the only required change is to use the safe ktime_get_real_seconds() interface as a replacement. treewide: use kv[mz]alloc* rather than opencoded variants There are many code paths opencoding kvmalloc. Let's use the helper instead. The main difference to kvmalloc is that those users are usually not considering all the aspects of the memory allocator. E.g. allocation requests <= 32kB (with 4kB pages) are basically never failing and invoke OOM killer to satisfy the allocation. This sounds too disruptive for something that has a reasonable fallback - the vmalloc. On the other hand those requests might fallback to vmalloc even when the memory allocator would succeed after several more reclaim/compaction attempts previously. There is no guarantee something like that happens though. This patch converts many of those places to kv[mz]alloc* helpers because they are more conservative. pstore: add lzo/lz4 compression support Like zlib compression in pstore, this patch added lzo and lz4 compression support so that users can have more options and better compression ratio. The original code treats the compressed data together with the uncompressed ECC correction notice by using zlib decompress. The ECC correction notice is missing in the decompression process. The treatment also makes lzo and lz4 not working. So I treat them separately by using pstore_decompress() to treat the compressed data, and memcpy() to treat the uncompressed ECC correction notice. tree wide: use kvfree() than conditional kfree()/vfree() There are many locations that do if (memory_was_allocated_by_vmalloc) vfree(ptr); else kfree(ptr); but kvfree() can handle both kmalloc()ed memory and vmalloc()ed memory using is_vmalloc_addr().
